One afternoon I was lying under my coconut tree when a cloud turned into a rocket ship!

☿ Mercury — 1st from SunMercury is the closest planet to the Sun! Binta needed special sunglasses because the Sun’s light was so bright and blinding here.
♀ Venus — 2nd from SunVenus shines so brightly it looks exactly like a star! Binta was amazed to discover it’s actually a planet — not a star at all.
🌍 Earth — 3rd from SunEarth is Binta’s home! It’s the only planet in the solar system with liquid oceans, air to breathe, and coconut trees in Jamaica.
♂ Mars — 4th from SunMars is the Red Planet! Binta’s rocket computers revealed it has giant volcanoes AND two moons — not just one like Earth!
♃ Jupiter — 5th from SunJupiter is the BIGGEST planet of all! Binta nearly bumped into one of its 95 moons. It has a giant red storm called the Great Red Spot.
♄ Saturn — 6th from SunBinta’s FAVOURITE planet! Saturn has seven beautiful rings made of ice and rock that shimmer in the starlight. So gorgeous! 💍
⛢ Uranus — 7th from SunUranus spins completely on its side! A huge gust of wind put Binta’s rocket ship in a tailspin as she passed by.
♆ Neptune — 8th from SunNeptune is so deep blue it reminded Binta of the beautiful Jamaican ocean back home in Portland.
❄️ Pluto — 9th from SunPluto is tiny and incredibly icy — icicles actually formed on Binta’s rocket windows! It’s so small, some people wonder if it’s even a planet.
